Issue 4 · The Zorro Circle

When the list is the whole ocean

Sent to subscribers July 19, 2026

When everything feels out of your hands, win the smallest thing that's still in them.

Some days the list isn't a list. It's an ocean. The meds, the calls, the bills, the decline you can't stop no matter what you do. So you freeze. Not because you're lazy — because where do you even start when all of it is too big at once.

Here's what the overwhelmed forget: you don't get your footing back by taking the whole ocean. You get it back by drawing one small circle and winning inside it. One drawer. One phone call. One made bed. When you control one small thing on purpose, your brain finally gets the message it had stopped believing — I am not helpless here. And from that one small win, the circle widens on its own.

Pick one thing the size of a shoebox. Not the ocean — a shoebox. The dishes. One email. The one prescription that needs refilling. Finish it, all the way. Let that be today's win, and let it actually count.

Small circle first. Everything else gets easier to reach from there. Reply and tell me your shoebox for today — I read every one. See you next week.
