Delete Your Metrics That Care Data
You can delete a specific care recipient (and all data tracked for them) directly in the app, or email us to remove individual log entries, photos, or active shares — without deleting your Metrics That Care account.
If you’d rather delete your entire account and all data, see Delete Your Account.
Option 1: Delete a recipient in the app
The fastest way to remove a large chunk of data — deleting a recipient permanently removes every log, photo, and share associated with that person. Other recipients and your account are unaffected.
- Open the Metrics That Care app and sign in.
- Tap Settings (bottom nav).
- Find the recipient you want to remove and tap the menu icon next to their name.
- Tap Delete Recipient and confirm. Deletion is immediate.
Option 2: Email us for anything more granular
For removing individual log entries (a single sleep log, mood entry, task, etc.), removing just a recipient’s photo, or revoking a family member’s share access, email us from the address on your account at admin@metricsthatcare.com with the subject line “Data Deletion Request.”
Tell us exactly what to delete — for example:
- “All sleep logs for Mom from January 2026.”
- “The photo on Dad’s profile.”
- “Revoke my sister’s share access to Mom’s records.”
- “The mood entry I made on April 15th.”
We’ll verify your identity (we’ll only act on requests from the email address on your account) and complete the deletion within 7 business days. You’ll get a confirmation reply when it’s done.
What gets deleted — and what stays
Partial deletion only removes what you ask for. Your account and everything else you’ve logged remain untouched.
- Deleting a recipient removes that recipient’s profile, all logs tracked for them (sleep, mood, energy, tasks, behavioral, hygiene, symptoms, nutrition), their photo, and any active shares for them. Other recipients are not affected.
- Deleting a single log entry (via email request) removes only that entry. All other entries remain.
- Removing a photo or revoking a share (via email request) removes only that specific item. The recipient and their other data stay in your account.
- Your account (profile, email, and login) stays active so you can keep using Metrics That Care.
Data retention after deletion
When data is deleted, it is hard-deleted from our active database within 24 hours.
- Database backups taken for disaster recovery may retain the deleted data for up to 30 additional days, after which they rotate out automatically.
- Security and audit logs record that a deletion occurred (without the deleted content) and are kept up to 90 days for security and compliance purposes under CCPA and Washington MHMD.
- Vercel edge logs persist up to 30 days and contain no health data.
